National Seafood Month is celebrated every year during the month of October. During this month, sustainable seafood restaurants focus on their sustainable ocean friendly dinner options. As for Sushi Maki, they focus on being the first sushi chain restaurant to earn Marine Stewardship Council Stewardship (MSC). MSC is the leading organization in the United States that sources seafood products from certified sustainable fisheries.​​​​​​​
This year for National Seafood Month, Sushi Maki made a promotion of giving away Free Tuna Poke Nachos to promote one of their new dishes. For the promotion design, I emphasized the scale of the nachos to take over the page and blue monochromatic gradient waves for the background to define the concept of ocean-friendly food to help remind guests how important it is for Sushi Maki to focus on sustainability.
